DMCA Notice Policy for Software Virtuosity

Software Virtuosity respects the intellectual property rights of software developers, publishers, photographers, writers, and other creators. Our reviews, free-tool recommendations, troubleshooting articles, driver guidance, and installation or activation guides may reference protected materials. We are willing to promptly review properly submitted Digital Millennium Copyright Act notices concerning material appearing on our website.

Submitting a DMCA Notice

Send complete notices to our designated agent using the contact details below. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a notice should include all six of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work: Identify the review, article, image, software documentation, or other original material you believe is protected, including a title and URL when available.
  2. Identification of the allegedly infringing material: Clearly describe each item complained of and provide its exact page URL or other precise location on Software Virtuosity. A general reference to the entire website is not sufficient.
  3. Your contact information: Provide your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address so we can communicate with you about the claim.
  4. A good-faith statement: State that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement under penalty of perjury: Include language substantially stating that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner, or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
  6. Your signature: Sign the notice with your physical or electronic signature. If submitting through an authorized representative, include that representative’s signature.

How We Handle a Notice

After receiving a complete and valid notice, we may remove or disable access to the identified material while the claim is evaluated. We generally forward the notice to the person responsible for posting the material, giving that party an opportunity to respond. We also maintain a record of removed content and related notices as required by law.

Counter-Notice Procedure

A creator whose material was removed may submit a legally sufficient counter-notice to our designated agent. It must identify the removed material and its former URL, provide contact information, and include a good-faith statement that the removal resulted from mistake or misidentification. The counter-notice must also state, under penalty of perjury, that the subscriber is the copyright owner or is authorized to represent the owner, and must contain a physical or electronic signature. We may restore the material if the original complainant provides a valid rebuttal or fails to pursue the claim.
